He serves as a part-time lecturer in the Department of Health Management and Informatics at Kenyatta University, where he teaches, mentors, and supervises postgraduate students, in addition to being an external examiner for the University of Nairobi.
Previously, Cheboi, served as a Senior Research Scientists at the National Museums of Kenya and consulted for African Medical and Research Foundation (AMREF), Population Services Kenya (PSI/K), Girl child network, Global Alliance on Nutrition (GAIN) and Action Against Hunger Somalia. He had published 21 articles in peer reviewed journals, convened 3 workshops/conferences, presented 6 conference papers, attended 10 scientific conferences, produced 1 main stream media outputs and 4 blogs.
Cheboi, has won research grants totaling to USD 21,2130 and being the principal investigator in 3 projects. He serves as a reviewer for multiple journals, including PLOS ONE, BioMed Central (BMC), the Ethiopian Journal of Health Sciences, and Sage Journals. He is passionate to transformative qualitative and quantitative research, Monitoring and evaluation of population healthcare interventions, indigenous palliative care, health management and system strengthening initiatives, one health and behavioral change co-creation programs.
